I’m not much of an art fan, but pictures drawn by Rene Magritte have always caught my attention. His surrealist paintings are so weird and interesting.
Today I have stumbled upon one of the paintings he drew close to the end of his life, in 1965. The painting is called The Blank Signature, and it depicts a woman on a horse in a forest. Or does it? At first glance, it does seem to be a painting of woman riding a horse, but when look more closely you see an optical illusion and realize the trees, the woman and the horse are intertwined. The horse and the rider are both in front of and behind the trees. It’s truly a fascinating piece of art to look at, and really makes you think and wonder. I just love it!
